Linda Hogan Pulled Over & Ticketed, WWE Name Changes
Written by Ryan Clark on October 03, 2008 at 15:54:46

» Like mother, like son -- just the other way around. TMZ has learned Linda Bollea was just stopped for speeding on her way to see Nick at the Pinellas County Jail. She got pulled over doing 71 mph in a 55 mph zone in a white Cadillac Escalade. What's the big hurry? Nick's in jail for another 18 days. She got ticketed and had to pay a $206 fine. None of Linda's friends were left in a vegetative state as a result.

» As noted earlier, WWE changed the ring names of a number of wrestlers in developmental. The reason for this is because WWE doesn't want the wrestlers using their real names as much as possible because they don't want them to make a name under their real name (which they can't own) and then go elsewhere. There will rare exceptions like in the case of Ted DiBiase, Jr., but from here on out, it looks like most new WWE stars will be going under names WWE created.

» WWE is expected to continue to send more big name talents to the Florida Championship Wrestling shows to increase attendance at TV tapings. They had been taping all shows for in-house purposes, but still didn’t have a TV deal locally. The belief among talent right now is that a TV deal has been reached, but no one seems to be aware of any particulars.

» While WWE won’t be taking any disciplinary action against Hardy for his most recent incident, some "what if" conversations have sparked up within the company. Hardy is obviously a big draw for WWE who also moves a fair amount of merchandise, and would be much more valuable to competition this time around if they were to let him go. One source says that WWE will be reluctant to call Hardy’s "third strike", as they are very aware of the potential business TNA could do with him after his major push on RAW. The recent airport incident, where Hardy was allegedly intoxicated in public, was said to be a wakeup call for WWE management and he likely won’t be getting the same star treatment he was before. It's not that it was such a huge deal but it's the fact that Jeff is known to always have some sort of an issue. You also can't represent the company in that matter. He's not just an 'Average Joe' as he's got a massive amount of fame due to his wrestling past. No matter how you put it - this was obviously not a good thing for Jeff or WWE.
